On The Job Movie (OJT) stars Joel Torre, Gerald Anderson, and Piolo Pascual, and is about prisoners temporarily being released by corrupt cops to become assassins.
Produced by Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment and directed by Erik Matti, this critically acclaimed Pinoy crime thriller film received a standing ovation at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and won 20 major awards from various award-giving bodies here and abroad.
On The Job Movie Plot Summary
Inspired by real events, Joel Torre plays Mario Maghari and is called Tatang, a middle-aged veteran inmate and assassin, while Gerald Anderson is Daniel, his younger inmate.
On the other hand, Piolo Pascual plays Francis Coronel Jr, a young cop who is to get promoted while helping principled cop SPO1 Joaquin Acosta (Joey Marquez) in his assignment on the investigation of a series of extra-judicial killings.
Tatang befriends Daniel and trains him to be the next assassin until he becomes an expert. Meanwhile, Francis learned that his own father-in-law, corrupt politician Congressman Manrique (Michael De Mesa) is involved in the said crimes.
Now, he becomes the target of assassination. And because Tatang is for “retirement,” Daniel takes over the job for him. But afterward, he will become Tatang’s next assignment.
