Produced by Viva Films and Golden Lion Films Production and directed by Carlo J Caparas, this Vilma Santos massacre film won FAMAS Best Picture and FAMAS Best Director award for Carlo J Caparas.
Lipa Arandia Massacre Movie Plot
In the movie, Vilma Santos plays Helen Arandia, while Joel Torre plays Ronald Arandia, Helen’s husband. The couple has two daughters Chelsea Arandia (Angelica Panganiban), 8 years old, and Geleen Arandia (Charina Scott), 6 years old. Helen and her two daughters were massacred inside their house in Lipa City, Batangas on April 9, 1994.
While Ronald was working in Saudi Arabia, Helen takes care of their children and their corn business. During her spare time, she teaches a mentally ill man Tikoy (Ronnie Lazaro). However, their neighbor Elmer Palicpic (John Regala) sees that they have a lot of money and robbed their house and killed the three of them. Ronald only learned about the tragedy when he read it in a newspaper while boarding a plane back to the Philippines.
