Birshot is a 2017 Philippine mystery-thriller film written by Mikhail Red and Rae Red and directed by the former. The film stars Arnold Reyes, Mary Joy Apostol, and John Arcilla in the leading roles. The film gained several local and international awards and nominations. It was produced by PelikulaRed, TBA Studios, Tuko Film Productions, and Buchi Boy Films, and was distributed by Solar Pictures. The film is also available on Netflix. Although completed in 2016, it had its commercial release on August 2017.
Birdshot Movie Plot
“Birdshot” is a mystery-thriller film that tells a story of a young Filipina farm girl who wanders into the boundaries of a Philippine reservation forest. Deep within the reservation she mistakenly shoots and kills a critically endangered and protected Philippine Eagle. As the local authorities begin a manhunt to track down the poacher of a national bird, their investigation leads them to an even more horrific discovery.
