A collaboration from Cineko Productions and Star Cinema in 2018, “The Significant Other” is a Filipino drama and romance movie masterminded by the award-winning director Joel C. Lamangan whose work also includes “The Flor Contemplacion Story”, “Blue Moon”, and “Mano Po” to name a few.
Top-billed by Erich Gonzales and Lovi Poe, competing for love and the title of the Significant Other.
The Significant Other Plot
The movie follows Edward and Maxene, (played by Tom Rodriguez and Lovi Poe) and Nicole (played by Erich Gonzales). Edward married to Maxene, who is a top model. Focusing on their family, she temporarily walked away from her career. While Nicole is a neophyte model steadily making a name for herself.
After 3 years, Maxene and Nicole met and are now sharing the catwalk stage. Nicole is happy working with her idol, Maxene and they got to know each other and became BFFs. While Edward met Nicole as one of his patients.
He felt something for Nicole and pursued her, which led to cheating on his wife. Maxene became suspicious of Edward’s actions and eventually found out about the truth. On a fashion show to remember, Maxene walks off the ramp and to Edward and starts kissing him. Seeing the moment, Nicole also walks off the ramp, snatches Edward, and proceeds to kiss him too.
