The Girl in the Orange Dress is a 218 Filipino romantic comedy film directed by Jay Abello. Starring Jericho Rosales and Jessy Mendiola, this Star Cinema, Quantum Films, and MJM Productions tale of love in unexpected places was a 2018 Manila Film Festival entry.
The stunning Mendiola has credited her role as the adventurous Anna who wakes up in a superstar’s bed for deciding to continue acting.
The Girl in the Orange Dress Movie Plot
Anna and her friends are excited to attend a high-profile party where they plan to have a legendary night and change their lives forever.
After pledging with her “friends by chance, sisters by choice” to stick together for the night and to especially not leave with a man, Anna soon finds herself waking up in a luxurious bed right alongside the dashing movie star Rye.
The movie is Cinderella-like in that Anna unexpectedly finds herself propelled into a different life, chasing love with a highly sought-after man through the halls and stairways of a luxurious hotel.
The two struggle with the challenges of finding ways to deal with a growing press mob that caught wind of what is being called a scandal as they both realize the previous night was not a mistake and their feelings are genuine even without the alcohol.
In the film we see an engaging contrast between social expectations and love’s triumph as Anna’s friends and Rye’s handlers fret about the legitimacy of the relationship and the lovers find the sincerity of their bond proven.
