Last Fool Show is a 2019 Filipino romantic-comedy film under Star Cinema featuring real-life friends Arci Muñoz and JM De Guzman.
It is written and directed by Eduardo Roy Jr., the indie filmmaker who directed the award-winning film, Pamilya Ordinaryo, along with film producer and current ABS-CBN Corporation president Carlo Katigbak. The movie was released in the Philippines on April 10, 2019.
Last Fool Show Movie Plot
The film follows the life of Mayessa (Arci Muñoz), an award-winning independent film director who attempted to pitch and sell an indie film concept to a major mainstream movie company, Galaxy Films, to help pay for her cancer-stricken mother, Sonya’s (Snooki Serna) needs.
However, the head of Galaxy Films (Bibeth Orteza) ditched the idea and insisted that Mayessa come up with a romantic comedy film that will be a major hit to the masses. Pressured by her financial needs, Mayessa agreed.
After suffering from bouts of writer’s block, Mayessa decided to take inspiration from her failed relationship with Paulo (JM de Guzman) for her first-ever romantic comedy film. Despite being painfully reminded of her relationship with her ex-boyfriend while dealing with her family’s problems, Mayessa pushes through with every day of shooting.
But when Paulo suddenly came back to her life, Mayessa got confused, which led her to re-think her views with her past relationship.
