Shake Rattle and Roll IX Movie (SRR IX) stars an ensemble cast including Katrina Halili, Lovi Poe, Roxanne Guinoo, Dennis Trillo, and Matt Evans. Produced by Regal Films, this 9th installment of the Shake Rattle & Roll trilogy horror movie series won the Best Child Performer award for Nash Aguas at the 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival and New Movie Actor of the Year award for Matt Evans and New Movie Actress of the Year award for Lovi Poe.
Shake Rattle and Roll IX Movie Plot Summary
The first episode entitled ‘Christmas Tree’ is directed by Paul Y. Daza. During Christmas break, Jong (John Prats) bought a tall Christmas tree which he erected at the house of his mother Susana (Boots Anson-Roa). Shortly, his older sister Myrna (Gina Alajar) and her children Hazel (Lovi Poe), Stephen (Nash Aguas), and Eunice (Sophia Baars) arrived. Later the Christmas tree grew taller and terrorized the entire family.
The second episode entitled ‘Bangungot’ is directed by Michael Tuviera. Here, Marionne (Roxanne Guinoo) had a bad dream – she and Jerome (Dennis Trillo) who is already engaged with Florence (Pauleen Luna) went on a date at an amusement park. There, she met a mysterious woman (Eugene Domingo) and warned her that she would die if she will go to sleep. Later, she learned about a ritual where she can dream of being with Jerome. However, there is a negative effect on her and Jerome.
The third episode entitled ‘Engkanto’ is directed by Topel Lee. Here, teenage band members including Richard (Matt Evans) and Dang (Melissa Ricks) and their heir manager Hans (Jojo Alejar) went to a remote province for a gig. But no matter what they do, they seemed to be lost. A townfolk warned them about engkanto but they ignored him. Later, an engkanto disguised as a beautiful lady (Katrina Halili) haunted them one by one.
