Aswang Movie stars Manilyn Reynes, Aiza Seguerra, and Alma Moreno as a beautiful woman but a vampire who can transform into different animals such as snakes before attacking her victim.
Produced by Regal Films and directed by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes, this blockbuster Pinoy horror film earned 2 awards nominations at the 1993 Young Critics Circle Awards – Best Film Editing and Best Sound and Aural Orchestration.
Aswang Movie Plot Summary
The movie starts with the aswang (Alma Moreno) victimizing Emil (Joey Marquez) in a remote province. Shortly, young Catlyn (Aiza Seguerra), her nanny, Veron (Manilyn Reynes), and their family driver Dudoy (Berting Labra) are on their way home to another place.
But upon arrival, a group of robbers were inside their house and killed Catlyn’s mother. The suspects saw them and ran after them, but the three managed to escape.
Dudoy decided to bring Catlyn and Veron to Talisay, a town where incidentally the aswang has been terrorizing the residents and is now making a comeback.
There, they met aswang hunter Dr. Abraham (Leo Martinez), Rosita (Janice de Belen) Emil’s pregnant wife, and Edgar (Aljon Jimenez), who likes Veron. Little did everybody know that the beautiful woman who they see almost every day is the notorious aswang.
