Whistleblower Movie is a political thriller drama starring Superstar Nora Aunor.
Produced by Quento Media and Untel Productions and directed by Adolfo Alix Jr, this Nora Aunor indie film earned 9 nominations in the Star Awards including Movie of the Year; Movie Director of the Year; and Movie Supporting Actress of the Year (Angelica Panganiban and Cherry Pie Picache).
Whistleblower Movie Plot
At the start of the movie, an NBI operation led to the recovery of Zeny Roblado (Nora Aunor), a financial consultant who has been detained by her boss Lorna Valera (Cherry Pie Picache). Shortly, she told everything about the fake NGOs Lorna has established to reporter Teresa (Angelica Panganiban).
Later, Teresa exposed the scam that led to a Senate hearing on government officials who were allegedly involved. As expected, the media covered the event and the issue gets complicated as some politicians used the controversy to their advantage.
And although the story is fictional, it is obviously inspired by the PDAF scam pointing to businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles as the alleged mastermind.
