Thy Womb Movie (Sinapupunan) stars Superstar Nora Aunor as Shaleha, a Badjao midwife who is unable to bear a child for her husband and decided to find a surrogate mother.
Produced by Center Stage Productions and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and directed by Brillante Mendoza, this critically acclaimed Nora Aunor film won various awards, local and international.
Thy Womb Movie Plot
In the movie, Shaleha cannot bear a child for her husband Bangas-An (Bembol Roco). So she decides to find him a fit woman to deliver him a baby until she met Mersila (Lovi Poe).
And although having a second wife is allowed in their culture, this is never easy to accept for any woman, especially if she will be the midwife when the woman gives birth to their child. This Brillante Mendoza film also showcases the magical beauty of Tawi-Tawi, Mindanao.
