The Trial Movie Plot Summary
In the movie, John Lloyd Cruz plays Ronald Jimenez Jr, aka Ron-Ron, a 29-year old developmentally-challenged student while Jessy Mendiola as Bessy Buenaventura, Ronald’s school teacher, and tutor.
On the other hand, Enrique Gil plays Martin Bien, Ronald’s best friend and son of Julian (Richard Gomez) and Amanda (Gretchen Barretto) whose marriage is failing. At some point, Ronald and Bessy have a romantic relationship.
One day, someone took a photo of Ronald and Bessy while making out. Later, Ronald is being accused of raping her. Being a developmental psychologist, Amanda (Gretchen Barretto), discovers that Martin (who died) is somehow connected to the issue. She then convinces Julian to be Ronald’s defense lawyer.
But did Ronald really rape Bessy? Or is he just being set up because he cannot defend himself in court?
