Tatarin is a 2001 Filipino drama film written by Nick Joaquin and Ricardo Lee, and directed by Tikoy Aguiluz.
The film stars an ensemble cast of Edu Manzano, Dina Bonnevie, Rica Peralejo, and Patricia Javier among others. It was produced and distributed by Viva Films.
Tatarin Plot
The wealthy but unhappy couple Doña Lupe (Dina Bonnevie) and Don Paeng (Edu Manzano) yearns to have a child for the longest time and will do anything just to fulfill their wish.
Lupe wants to participate in a ritual performed by women to invoke the gods to grant the blessing of fertility by dancing around a Balete tree that was already a century old.
