Santa Santita Movie stars Angelica Panganiban as a young rebellious daughter who later on went into selling prayers and even healing sick people.. Produced by Unitel Pictures International and directed by Laurice Guillen, this first Angelica Panganiban starring role film won 3 major awards including Best Supporting Actor for Johnny Delgado at the 2005 Golden Screen Awards and a FAMAS Best Actress nomination for Angelica.
Santa Santita Movie Plot Summary
In the movie, Angelica Panganiban plays Malen, a teenage rebellious daughter of Chayong (Hilda Coronel), a widow, and a Quiapo church devotee (Hilda Coronel) who earns money by asking for donations from people asking her to pray for them. One day, she met Mike (Jericho Rosales), who makes money by driving his own car-for-hire and offering ‘special services’ to her older women’s costumes and has a young sick son.
Meanwhile, alcoholic priest Fr. Tony (Johnny Delgado) was assigned to their area after he was accused of corruption in the province he has been serving. Shortly, Malen left her mother and lived with Mike. But when Chayong died, Malen went back to their home and continued the work of her mother. Later, a very sick child was healed through her prayers, despite not even praying seriously. Now, is she becoming a saint?
