Orapronobis Fight For Us is a political thriller movie starring Phillip Salvador.

Produced by French Giancarlo Parretti Production and written by Jose F. Lacaba, this controversial Lino Brocka movie was initially banned by then-President Corazon Aquino due to its subversive message and was only allowed to be shown in public after its premiere at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival.

Orapronobis Fight For Us Movie Plot

The movie starts in October 1985 when a foreign priest was murdered in the town of Santa Filomena by the Orapronobis, a vigilante group turned cult under the leadership of Kumander Kontra (Bembol Roco).

The next scene features the actual video clip of the 1986 EDSA Revolution that led to the downfall of then-President Ferdinand Marcos, who was replaced by Cory Aquino.

Shortly after, Jimmy Cordero (Phillip Salvador), a former priest who went underground against Marcos for eight years was among the political detainees released by the Aquino government.

He then marries a human rights activist, Trixie (Dina Bonnevie), and eventually became a human rights advocate. Later, he agreed to join the investigation on the killing of the foreign priest and others.

Upon arriving at the area, Jimmy met his ex-girlfriend Esper (Gina Alajar) and learned that they had a son Camilo (RR Herrera). After helping the residents in moving out from their place, Jimmy went back to Manila. There, a member of the underground movement invited him to join again but he refused. But when Kumander Kontra killed Esper and Camilo, he changes his mind.
