Mano Po 1: My Family Full Movie (2002)

Mano Po Movie stars is an all-star cast film led by Diamond Star Maricel Soriano and Kris Aquino and is focused on the struggles of a Chinese-Filipino family in the Philippines, and later became a film series.

Produced by Regal Entertainment and directed by Joel Lamangan, this first Mano Po film is an official entry to the 2002 Metro Manila Film Festival and earned 28 major awards nominations from various award-giving bodies and won 12 of them.

Mano Po Movie Plot Summary

This family drama movie starts in 1949 when young Luis Go (Cogie Domingo) brought his young Chinese-Filipino bride Elisa (Maxene Magalona) to China from the Philippines.

However, she receives discrimination from Luis’ parents. Shortly, Elisa returned to the Philippines but Luis decided to come with her. Decades later, Don Luis Go (Eddie Garcia) celebrates his 80th birthday as a rich prominent businessman.

In her speech, Vera Go (Maricel Soriano) eldest granddaughter of Luis and Elisa (Boots Anson-Roa) revealed that his grandfather used to work as a cook while her grandmother Elisa worked as a launderer. They entered into several businesses until Don Luis Go became the president of Go Group of Companies. Nevertheless, the Go clan had some conflicts and faced a lot of challenges in their lives.
