Ekis: Walang Tatakas is a Filipino action/drama film released in 1999, written and directed by renowned filmmaker Erik Matti.
The film stars Albert Martinez and Sunshine Cruz in the leading roles. This movie is the first collaboration between Martinez and Cruz. The film also features other prominent actors including Raymond Bagatsing, Ryan Eigenmann, Ace Espinosa, Jaime Fabregas, and Maureen Larrazabal in the supporting roles.
Ekis: Walang Tatakas Movie Plot
Gene (Albert Martinez) is a member of the underworld syndicate. But unlike the others, Gene has always been compassionate towards his abductees.
Just as he begins contemplating leaving his old ways behind, he meets Dolor (Sunshine Cruz), an ex-bar girl who happens to be estranged from her rich husband. Later on, it is revealed that she is routinely berated and beaten by him. A hot and dangerous affair quickly ensues between the two.
Eventually, the cops come after Gene’s gang. Around this time, Dolor’s husband is also found dead. This puts both of their lives at risk and changes their lives for good. They decide to run away from the law together, as their enemies continue to pursue them.
