Circa is a 2019 Filipino drama film by critically-acclaimed and award-winning director Adolfo Borinaga Alix, Jr. Circa is one of the seven films that were chosen to be screened at the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2019.
It is a celebration of Philippine cinema’s 100 years and stars veteran actor Anita Linda and many other multi-awarded actors. The late Eddie Garcia also plays a special part in the movie. It is produced by Noble Wolf, Swift Productions, ABAJ Film Productions, and RSVP Film Studios.
Circa Movie Plot
Doña Atang (played by Anita Linda), who used to be an acclaimed film producer back in the days when Filipino cinema was just starting to flourish, is celebrating her 100th birthday.
Her wish is to have a reunion with the actors and crew members whom she has worked with. She is also searching for a film by one of her directors that was never finished.
Her grandson Michael (played by Enchong Dee) decides to help make her wish, which could be very well her last, come true. The film shows his journey to find these people.
As he meets the workers, they share their faded yet powerful memories of what it was like to work in the industry, giving viewers a glimpse of the colorful history of Philippine cinema through the years.
