Ang Tatay Kong Nanay is a 1978 Filipino comedy-drama film. The film stars Dolphy and Niño Muhlach with Philip Salvador and Marissa Delgado as supporting the main characters.
Produced by Lotus Film Production and directed by Lino Brocka. While story and screenplay by Orlando Nadres. During the 1979 FAMAS Awards Night, Niño won the Best Child Actor while nominated Dolphy and Marissa Delgado as Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress, respectively.
Ang Tatay Kong Nanay Movie Plot
In the movie, Dolphy played the role of “Coring”, a gay beautician who has a live-in partner named “Dennis” played by Philip Salvador. Coring was not aware that Dennis has another relationship with a prostitute named “Mariana” played by Marissa Delgado.
The twist began when Mariana got pregnant and gave birth to “Nonoy”, the role of Niño Muhlach. Having the dilemma of raising a son, Dennis has no other choice but to convince Coring to take care of Nonoy, as he will work as a US Navy. Although hesitant, Coring agreed for the sake of Dennis.
And from thereon, Coring did his best to raise Nonoy as his own son. Likewise, for Nonoy, it was Coring who became his own father as well as his mother.
Another twist in the story was, when Mariana returned, now as a rich widower, she wanted to get back Nonoy from Coring. The succeeding scenes highlighted the emotional struggle of Coring as if he will let go of the child he learned to loved as his own. While Nonoy not giving up Coring and always finds his way back to Coring’s fatherly arms.
