The Mall, The Merrier is a 2019 Philippine musical family comedy film directed by Barry Gonzales, starring Vice Ganda, and Anne Curtis. The film is co-produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films under the working title Momalland.
The film premiered in Philippine cinemas on December 25, 2019, as one of the official entries to the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival.
The Mall, The Merrier marks the first on-screen collaboration between Anne Curtis and Vice Ganda, both of whom are regular hosts in the noontime variety show Its Showtime.
The Mall, The Merrier Movie Summary
Two siblings, Moira and Morissette, feud over Tamol Mall, a mall they inherited. The feud compounded with the arrival of their Aunt Moody, and mysterious events begin to occur.
Vice and Anne play estranged and warring sisters, Moira and Morissette Molina, respectively, whose parents die in a plane crash. How they would renovate and resuscitate their now-aging family mall will determine who will inherit it.
As they quarrel over the property, they accidentally unlock an ancient curse that literally brings the mall to life. They now have to break this curse in order to stop the mannequins, models from posters and tarpaulins, movie characters, and other mall figures from creating more chaos.
