Bagets Movie is a blockbuster youth-oriented comedy Tagalog film starring Aga Muhlach, William Martinez, Raymond Lauchengco, JC Bonnin, and Herbert Bautista.
Produced by Viva Films and directed by Maryo J de Los Reyes, this phenomenal movie set the trend for new hairstyles and clothing for the youths, especially for high school teenagers. Due to its popularity, it had an immediate sequel entitled Bagets 2, which was also released in the same year.
Bagets Movie Plot Summary
In this movie, five incoming 4th-year high school students Adie (Aga Muhlach), Tonton (William Martinez), Arnel (Raymond Lauchengco), Toffee (JC Bonnin), and Gilbert (Herbert Bautista) met each other when their parents enrolled them in the same public school after they were kicked out from their former schools. And although they have different interests and family backgrounds, they became close friends. Along the way, they encountered the typical adventures and misadventures that are common to adolescents.
Each of them also had family problems and met their love interests. Adie became in love with Ivy (Baby Delgado), a married woman who lives just across the street, Toffee met Christine (Chanda Romero), an older flight attendant, while Arnel fell in love with Janice (Eula Valdez) but his parents did not like her for him. On the other hand, Gilbert has a huge crush on Melissa (Jobelle Salvador) but he has no guts to approach her. The most dramatic love story belongs to Tonton and Rose (Yayo Aguila), who died in a car crash in the latter part of the movie.
