Masamang Ugat is a 2003 Filipino action film produced by Viva Films where three of the Philippines’ greatest actors, Eddie Garcia (widely regarded as the “greatest Filipino actor of all time”), Ace Vergel (a Filipino actor dubbed “The Original Bad Boy of Philippine Movies”), and Mikey Macapagal (son of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo Arroyo), played as lead roles. It is directed by Willy Milan who is also the writer along with Marlon Rivero.
Masamang Ugat Movie Plot
Ace Vergel plays David and Mikey Macapagal Arroyo plays Angelo. This is a story of two brothers, David and Angelo, who were both separated by unforeseen circumstances in their lives, which led to the death of their mother.
David is a hitman, while Angelo is a police officer working for NARCOM. They had just one objective and that was to put an end to the mastermind of a crystal meth factory pretending to be a herbal farm run by Ishmael Valdez (Al Tantay).
The crystal meth factory is run by a well-known Apo Roman (Eddie Garcia) who turns out to be David and Angelo’s estranged father. Apo Roman had another son Darwin (Victor Neri) who grew up notorious like his father and his staff, David and Angelo’s half-brother, who couldn’t care less about his siblings and just wants to murder people.
Both brothers are out to bring down the notorious leader of the crystal meth factory– one to save lives and solve the crime, the other to avenge the death of their mother.
