Markang Bungo The Bobby Ortega Story stars Rudy Fernandez as the late Colonel Roberto ‘Bobby’ C. Ortega, who is known for being tough against criminals.
Produced by Bonanza Films and directed by Nilo Saez, this Rudy Fernandez movie has a sequel entitled Iligpit Si Bobby Ortega Markang Bungo 2, released in 1996.
Markang Bungo The Bobby Ortega Story Plot
In this movie, Bobby Ortega is not only shown as a tough cop but also as a son, brother, and husband. In an incident, his younger brother (who is also a cop) was shot and their father scolded Bobby on his killing of criminals.
In addition, he also lacks time with his wife. However, the biggest challenge he has to face are lawless bank robbers and corrupt police officers.
But aside from being an action-packed movie, it also features the special participation of Robert Ortega Jr (the son of Col. Bobby Ortega) as Anton, a young petty thief who stole medicine for his sick grandmother.
After learning that Anton was telling the truth, he did not arrest him and helped him instead. This film was also famous for having one of the most memorable lines in Tagalog movies, “Walang personalan, trabaho lang.”
