This 2003 version of Captain Barbell movie stars Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla Jr as the title role. Produced by Premiere Productions and Viva Films and directed by Mac Alejandre.
This blockbuster action fantasy film features a local, iconic, superhero created by writer, Mars Ravelo, and artist Jim Fernandez.
It is also an official entry to the 2003 Metro Manila Film Festival.
Captain Barbell Movie Plot
In the movie, Ogie Alcacid plays Tengteng, a thin, weak, asthmatic janitor, and Captain Barbell’s alter-ego.
On the other hand, Regine Velasquez plays the role of Darna, another iconic Philippine superhero by Mars Ravelo. And just like its earlier versions, Tengteng finds a magic barbell that can transform him into Captain Barbell, as he fights against evil beings and criminals.
