Boy Negro Movie is based on the true-to-life story of Arsenio Cayanan, the infamous hardened criminal from Samar.
Produced by Viva Films and directed by Pepe Marcos, this action-drama movie earned nominations for Best Picture, Best Actor (Phillip Salvador), and Best Child Performer (Joko Diaz) in FAMAS and eventually won in FAP Awards.
Boy Negro Movie Plot
At the start of the movie, Cayanan was still a young teen (Joko Diaz) and is always being beaten by his cruel uncle. After fighting back, he decided to escape and went to Manila to look for his parents. Uneducated and having no relatives to help him, Boy Negro decided to live in the streets and joined a group of snatchers until he grew up.
Luckily, a kind policeman helped Arsenio Cayanan find a decent job. He landed as a worker in family-owned hollow blocks manufacturing business. But one night, a former worker and two others robbed the house and killed the husband, and wounded the wife.
As revenge, Boy Negro killed the murderer. Later, he became a suspect of other crimes and met news writer Max Buan (Tommy Abuel) whom he only wanted to surrender to.
