List of Sharon Cuneta-Gabby Concepcion Movies

Without a doubt, the Sharon Cuneta-Gabby Concepcion love team is one of the most well-loved love teams in the Philippine entertainment industry. And although their marriage lasted for only three years, fans still love their reunion movies. The ex-couple has a daughter, KC Concepcion, who is also somehow doing well in her showbiz career.

As a teenage girl growing up when Sharon and Gabby did their first movie together, I was able to watch almost all of their movies in cinemas. And because they were recently reunited via a McDonald’s TV commercial that immediately viral, below is the complete list of all the Sharon-Gabby movies, so fans can recall their kilig moments.

1. Dear Heart (1981)

Directed by Danny L. Zialcita, ‘Dear Heart’ is the first-ever movie of Sharon and Gabby and is also Sharon’s first feature movie. But contrary to what many people thought, the film was produced by Sining Silangan Productions, and not by Viva Films. Both of them were only 15 years old, but it is being believed that they were already dating at that time.

2. P.S. I Love You (1981)

Directed by Eddie Garcia, ‘PS I Love You’ is Sharon’s first movie by Viva Films, and the first Sharon-Gabby movie in the said production outfit. Interestingly, it also did well in the box office just like the first one. Sining Silangan Productions was supposed to produce the film, but apparently, it did not have the means to create an immediate sequel.

3. My Only Love (1982)

Also produced by Viva Films, ‘My Only Love’ is the second Sharon-Gabby movie under the direction of Eddie Garcia. Here, Gabby (as Billy) and Sharon (Cindy) had Jackie Lou Blanco (as Trixie) as their main antagonist or kontrabida. I remember a particular scene when Sharon was on a beach, wearing polo and maong pants instead of a swimsuit.

4. Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin? (1984)

Directed by Emmanuel H. Borlaza, ‘Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?’ is a reunion movie for Sharon and Gabby after they broke up in 1982. Aside from being a box-office hit, the film also made Sharon win her first FAMAS Best Actress award, as well as the Box Office Queen of RP Movies. I watched it in theaters, so yes, she deserved the acting award.

5. Sa Hirap At Ginhawa (1984)

Directed by Leroy Salvador, ‘Sa Hirap at Ginhawa’ has again proven that Sharon is a great actress when she won the Best Actress award via the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP). Here, Sharon plays Cecilia, who followed her boyfriend (Gabby) in Baguio, and has to endure the hardships of a wife. Another great movie for Shawie.

6. Bakit Ikaw Pa Rin? (1990)

Directed by Emmanuel H. Borlaza, ‘Bakit Ikaw Pa Rin?’ Sharon earned a Best Actress nomination at PMPC Star Awards for Movies for her role as Jenny), who had a romantic relationship with Gabby (as Paul) at a very young age, and had to adjust her lifestyle. The main antagonist is Cherie Gil (as Syliva, Paul’s sister) who tried to separate them.

7. Una Kang Naging Akin (1991)

Directed by Laurice Guillen, ‘Una Kang Naging Akin’ featured Gabby as a wealthy businessman who had severe amnesia after surviving a plane crash. He was torn between Sharon (as Diosa) and Dawn Zulueta (his fiancée). Sharon’s brilliant performance gave her Best Actress award nominations from FAMAS and FAP.

8. Tayong Dalawa (1992)

Directed by Laurice Guillen, ‘Tayong Dalawa’ is so far the last movie together of Sharon and Gabby. The film gave Sharon Cuneta a grand slam Best Actress nomination from FAMAS, FAP, Gawad Urian, and PMPC Star Awards for Movies that year. She eventually won the Best Actress award from Movie Magazine’s Film Review Awards.

And as we all know, a Sharon-Gabby reunion movie under Star Cinema was supposed to be released in 2017. But in April that year, Gabby said he had to cancel the movie due to other commitments. But come September, the 51-year old actor admitted that he did not like being offered the role-based only on a synopsis and not a full story.
